Garlic lovers from across Ontario converge on Sudbury each August for the Annual Canadian Garlic Festival. The festivities begin with the Great Garlic Walk in Hnatyshyn Park in downtown Sudbury (both garlic and walking are good for you!). The Canadian Garlic Festival is a family food affair offering anything and everything garlic. Visitors can choose from dozens of delectable foods to savour including garlic soups, garlic chicken wings, kabobs, garlic cheese balls and curry chicken, even garlic chip cookies and garlic fudge desserts!

Organizers use as much fresh local garlic as possible to help boost sales for local farmers. Including the endless supply of garlic goodies there is always plenty of entertainment, vendors and crafts to enjoy. The Garlic Festival is also an important fundraiser - funds raised from the event go towards the Sudbury Community Foundation and to senior services in the Ukrainian Senior Centre.
