Each
June in Greater Sudbury the summer
season officially kicks off with the Annual Downtown Rotary Blues For
Food’, in Memorial Park, Downtown
Sudbury. Bring your
lawn chair, family and friends and enjoy a great day of Family Fun and
live music! Help fill the cupboards at the Sudbury
Food Bank and help the needy of our community!!!
Admission
to the event is non-perishable food items or cash donations. All proceeds
from the annual event are donated to the Sudbury Food Bank. Since its
inception, Blues For Food has raised over $75,000.00 and over 70 tons
of non-perishable food items for the Sudbury Food bank, thanks to the
community who support the event every year.
From
11:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. visitors can enjoy a wide variety of music,
food and events. The kids will have their hands full with the Interactive
Arts Area, face painting, caricature artists, pony rides, clowns and
magicians, bouncy inflatables and a refreshing romp through the fountain!
The
Investors Group serve up delicious barbecue throughout the day while
the Rent & Party Labatt Refreshment Tent is open for all of the thirsty
"19 and over" crowd. On the Main Stage a number of Rhythm and Blues
acts keep your fingers snappin' and toes tappin' all afternoon including
local favorites Tommy Fyfe & Whiskey River and Hipshake.
Parking
is free at all Municipal lots and meters and also at the Rainbow Centre.
