The Sud-berry Bear makes his rounds throughout the city each July as Greater Sudbury hosts the annual Blueberry Festival. Festivities abound throughout the 2 week festival with dozens of events each day. A variety of events are held in Memorial Park and the Farmers Market Square .  The Gem and Mineral Show takes place at the Carmichael Arena during the first weekend of the Festival and Minnow Lake Days runs during the second weekend. 

Several scrumptious Blueberry Pancake Breakfasts are held during the festival and a Blueberry Brunch/Art Show is held at the Older Adult Centre, the sponsors of the Festival.

Favorite events each year include the Downtown Celebrity Pie Eating Contest in front of the Rainbow Outlet Mall, the annual Blueberry Garden Party at the Ukrainian Seniors' Centre and Gazebo Concerts on Sunday evenings at Bell Park.
