is the first site of its kind in Canada. The purpose of this website is
to bring the City of Greater Sudbury to the world via the internet. Text
and visual information about Greater Sudbury's history, landmarks, and
many institutions of health, government, and much more. Using 360 degree
panoramic photography, we are able to create interactive virtual reality
movies that allow the viewer to see interior and exterior panoramas of
a wide variety of local landmarks, college and university, retail and
corporate businesses and many more. The virtual visitors to this site
can interact with our VR clips as well as our vector-based maps, giving
detailed information about the exact locations of any of the areas of
interest throughout Greater Sudbury. You will always know where you are
since each of our VR clips is accompanied with the corresponding map location! |

Once you have chosen any of our numerous VR clips,
simply click and move your mouse in any direction inside the VR clip window.
The VR clip will move in the same direction and speed that you control
with your mouse. Depending on the VR clip you have chosen, you will
sometimes notice text "hotspots" that appear in the VR clip;
click on these "hotspots" to move virtually into a corresponding
new VR clip, i.e. viewing the Tom Davies Square Concourse will show a
text hotspot at the main building entrance; clicking this hotspot will
load a new VR clip showing the inside of the Tom Davies Square foyer!
The Apple Quicktime Player must be installed in your computer to view and interact with all of our virtual reality clips.
